Fragments of a Shattered Soul: The Odyssey of Betrayal

God, what shall I do?
When they slap my right cheek, shall I give them my left?
Like how you taught me, with kindness and grace,
Yet here I stand, lost in this daunting place.

It’s true when they say, beware of those near,
Not the enemies lurking, but the ones we hold dear.
Those who whisper sweet nothings, who claim to be true,
Yet behind their soft smiles, they harbour the blue.

Is this how life should be, a dance of deceit?
With trust turned to ashes, and love faced with defeat?
Is this the cruel lesson that life has bestowed?
To cherish the moment, only to watch it erode.
I’m sorry for questioning, for doubting the light,
But the shadows grow longer, consuming the night.

The feeling of betrayal, it lingers like a ghost,
A haunting reminder of the love I once chose.
The world is a cruel place, where hearts break and bend,
Where laughter can mask the sharp edges of friends.

They smile in your face, but throw knives at your back,
Leaving wounds that run deeper than the kindness they lack.
In this labyrinth of sorrow, I search for a way,
To rise from the ashes, to find hope in the grey.

So, God, what shall I do? How do I mend?
This heart that is weary, this spirit to defend.
Guide me through the darkness, help me to see,
That even in struggle, there’s a path meant for me.

For life may be cruel, but I’ll gather my strength,
To turn pain into wisdom, to go any length.
With each step I take, I’ll reclaim what is mine,
For in the depths of despair, resilience will shine.

So guide me, dear God, through this valley of tears,
Help me to heal, to confront all my fears.
For in the heart’s journey, through betrayal and pain,
I’ll emerge from the storm, and dance in the rain.
